The consumer market has come to love the miniaturization process. A Palm Pilot purchased today has more computing power than personal computers had 20-25 years ago. This innovation boom has come out of nanotechnology, a realm of science that deals with objects that are smaller than 100 nanometers in their largest dimension.

Scientists at the forefront of nano-related research will discuss the fundamentals of this small but important size regime, including its impacts on emerging technologies, and its future application in all aspects of our lives. Speakers:

  • Dr. Mark Hersam, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern University
  • Dr. Teri Odom, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Northwestern University

This program is presented in partnership with Harold Washington College and the Mayor's Office of Special Events.

Make reservations on-line, by phone 312.422.5580, or via email .
