Located  at 2430 N. Cannon Drive, the Notebaert museum

   with  the Illinois Humanities Council - present a special program!

How exactly does a curve
ball curve? How does a kernel of popcorn pop open?
What’s going on with your body when you stretch?
This program will explain the science behind three common experiences at a baseball game:
the physics of the curve ball, the food science of Cracker Jack/popcorn, and the anatomy of the stretch. The curve ball presentation will feature film footage of pitches thrown by Cubs and White Sox pitchers.

Guest speakers to include: Michael Staver,
Kendall College; Porter W. Johnson, Ph.D, Illinois Institute of Technology; and Raquel Gonzales, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. This program is presented in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Special Events as part of Chicago Science Expedition "Two Weeks Worth of "Wow"!. Free and open to the public.
