Human Rights Campaign Announces Best Places To Work

HRC – The Human Rights Campaign,  is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgender) citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

Individuals can be fired in 33 states if they are gay, lesbian, or bisexual, and 42 states if they are transgender. HRC recognizes these Best Places to Work for GLBT Equality as companies that have made a commitment to end discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace.

Recently, the 2007 list of BEST PLACES TO WORK was published. More than half of Fortune 500 companies  now provide equal benefits for their GLBT employees. A total of 142 companies made the list this year, including Chicago-based  Boeing, Starcom, Kraft, Hewitt, Motorola, Global Hyatt, CNA insurance, BP, Walgreens, and Sears.
