PEACE ALLIANCE CAMPAIGN – Department of Peace

For twenty years, Marianne Williamson has  given thousands of lectures based on spiritual principles, primarily from A Course in Miracles. She recently got involved with the Peace Alliance, to create a Department of Peace.

“I am involved in the lobbying effort to establish a Cabinet-level Department of Peace. Please check it out at www.ThePeaceAlliance.org , and if you support the bill, contact your Congressperson and tell them so. Ask them to co-sponsor the bill and do everything in their power to further its passing. You can visit www.congress.org for your Representative’s contact information. For more information on this, visit our Take Action section at: http://www.thepeacealliance.org/action .

This Campaign is sponsored by The Peace Alliance. At The Peace Alliance, we are devoted to the creation of a new political consciousness, based upon the nonviolent principles articulated by Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. Fundamental change, in the words of Dr. King, involves a “qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.”

In the spirit of building more deeply nonviolent social and political structures, we invite you to join with us as we participate in a concerted, strategic grass-roots effort to support the proposed legislation to establish a Cabinet-level Department of Peace within the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government.

It goes without saying that this is a hugely critical issue. (Abolition and Women’s Suffrage seemed far-fetched when they were first introduced, by the way.) We can do this. Please help.

With love,
Marianne

City Councils across the U.S. are acknowledging the practical impact a Dept. of Peace will have at reducing violence in our nation and abroad.  Eighteen cities have endorsed so far, representing a collective population of over 6.5 million people, including: Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis, Oakland, San Jose and more.
