Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion returns for an Encore Presentation

Cirque du Soleil brings DRALLION back to the Chicago area for a very limited, encore presentation. Without the grand  chapeau,  they will play Rosemont Allstate Arena June 20 – 24th, then Chicago’s United Center June 27 – July 1st.

And just because it is not under their big yellow big top, it will still be an intimate experience, as Cirque is only using about 35%  of each arena, still providing an intimate show.

Fusing the 3000 year-old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts with the multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil, Dralion draws its inspiration from Eastern philosophy and its never-ending quest for harmony between humans and nature.

The show’s name is derived from its two emblematic creatures: the dragon, symbolizing the East, and the lion, symbolizing the West.

In Dralion, the four elements that govern the natural order take on a human form. Thus embodied, each element is represented by its own evocative colour: air is blue; water is green; fire is red; earth is ochre. In the world of Dralion, cultures blend, Man and Nature are one, and balance is achieved.

What the media say about the show…

“I would recommend Dralion highly to those who can appreciate the artistry and acrobatic talent displayed in the show.”
The Examiner

“A feast for the eyes – and ears. Spectacular visuals paired with Cirque’s haunting music. A wonderful experience.”
Inside Your

“Cirque’s unpretentious “Dralion” offers one visual gravity-defying stunner after another.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer

The backdrop for Dralion is a metallic structure 60 feet (18 m)
in width and 26 feet (7.9 m) in height. It is covered in perforated
aluminum tiles, giving it the appearance of medieval armor or a
futuristic Chinese temple. Sitting atop the structure are six giant
claws which allow performers to climb the wall and suspend in mid-air.

Above the stage itself are three large concentric aluminum rings. The
first is utilized as a catwalk; the second is used to support acrobatic
equipment; and the third is used by performers to move up and down and
suspend in the air.

It is a very cool visual!!

Tickets are $35 up to $145 for VIP front row seating.
