Chicago Cares Volunteer Opportunities
chicago leadership volunteer Turbo Tagger
Chicago Cares’ mission is to respond to the critical human service, educational and environmental needs of Chicago by creating, managing and leading effective and innovative volunteer service programs which foster the ethic of volunteerism, promote a sense of community and support our partnerships with community organizations.
Chicago Cares is the city’s premier volunteer organization. Chicago Cares designs volunteer opportunities with you in mind. Each program is created by our staff to meet a community need and involves hands-on work (no office work or fundraising). You are led by a trained volunteer leader who knows what needs to be done and how – so you don’t have to. The offerings are flexible; you serve when you have time. Each program involves at least four volunteers, which means you are never alone and will always make a new friend.
“We provide opportunities for individuals and businesses to improve the Chicago community through participation in creative, structured group volunteer programs designed to address Chicago’s most pressing needs. Chicago Cares develops approximately 120 hands-on group volunteer projects each month serving children, adults, seniors, the environment, the hungry and homeless and much more. Our innovative format gives people the opportunity to work on our projects on a flexible basis and has attracted thousands of active volunteers. Chicago Cares is an affiliate of Hands On Network, a growing alliance of volunteer management and mobilization organizations across the United States, the U.K. and other countries.”
